The Albanian Riviera
Many young Albanians do not think of their country as a place where they can find fortune or secure a viable future.
As a result, a lack of money and resources has influenced young Albanians to travel illegally across national borders and international waterways for financial opportunities in the West. “Generation Z” is currently leaving Albania in large numbers for work and Business opportunities offered by Western countries such as the United Kingdom (UK), Germany, and Italy.
College-age males are particularly keen to risk their lives migrating across Europe for work. However, the issue of immigration is significantly affecting Albania across all the demographic, humanitarian, and economic realms. The number of young males and some women choosing to leave Albania over the past ten (10) years is creating multiple crises for the country.
Consequently, illegal migration from Albania does not only impact the designated “destination” countries in the West. Albanian businesses are increasingly facing a shortage of qualified young workers.

The French Riviera? No, it is Albania.
The only way to stop the problems that the mass emigration of Albanian youth is creating is to change Albania's image.
The mentality of young Albanians also needs to change. If only they stopped thinking of all that Albania cannot be. If only young people could take the time and effort to see the country's southwest coast and the boundless opportunities for work and wealth on the so-called Albanian Riviera.
Just as the legendary French Riviera traverses between Cannes in France and La Spezia in Italy, the Albanian Riviera's expanse runs from the Ionian Sea's northern coast to the Adriatic Sea's southern coast. Although the Albanian Riviera is a sublime display of natural beauty – unlike the French Riviera, the Albanian counterpart is not well-known as a tourist destination.
If the Albanian government and tourist industry were inclined, they could boast 150 kilometers of unspoiled beaches and breathtaking mountain scenery.

The Albanian coast offers history buffs an opportunity to discover Illyrian cities that flourished in the region during ancient times.
Encouraging exploration of the coast of the Albanian Riviera will remind young Albanian residents and participants of the tourism industry that Albania played a leading role in the founding of the Roman Empire. Albania's coastal cities gained distinction in the Middle Ages for maritime trade, Mediterranean commerce, and archeological development.
Hence, the coastal region is full of antiquated forests, mountainous terrain, magnificent national parks, old castles, and archaeological military forts that envy any of the lovely attractions in France and Italy. On land, the Albanian Riviera runs from the picturesque city of Vlore in the north and historic Sarandë in the south.
An inland network of lakes, rivers, deltas, and lagoons accompany Albania's exquisite southwest seafront beaches and ports.
When paired with Albania's seas and beaches, there are opportunities for land exploration and niche commercial activity that international adventurers seeking idyllic tourism locations should capitalize on.

The Albanian government should promote the rare beauty of their awe-inspiring country and invest in attracting many more young people to the tourism industry to reverse the current immigration trends affecting the region.
If Albania commits to Marketing the Albanian Riviera internationally, young Albanians will soon develop a belief in the Albanian economy, higher living standards, and pride among Albania's future generations.
