The Dream Pad Pillow – Enhanced Sleep Wellness for Adults and Kids.

By ILS

Campaign Project Production Document

Dreampad SleepI have consistently preferred nodding off to music. A significant number of my recollections of living in my parent’s home incorporate awakening to my mother pulling earbuds out of my ears to rebuke me for nodding off with them in.

So when Dreampad sent one of their protected cushions that plays music over to our office, I was anticipating giving it a shot.

In the event that you haven’t been started at this point, the Dreampad Pillow ($160) is a “Shark Tank” alum that plays music through bone conduction — implying that lone you ought to have the option to hear it. Along these lines, you can be hushed to rest by smooth clamors without choosing both you and your accomplice will be tuning in to smashing waves or the TV on low throughout the night.

The tones have been extraordinarily intended to decrease pressure, instigate unwinding, and advance longer and better rest. And keeping in mind that there’s a helpful application for somebody like me who basically lean towards music while falling rest however lives between four paper-flimsy dividers, there’s an increasingly significant utilization. Dreampad says examine contemplates, incorporating those led couple with Columbia University Medical, have demonstrated accomplishment for individuals who experience the ill effects of light pressure related rest challenges to clinically based rest issues — an estimation that is resounded in a portion of its all the more excitedly positive Amazon audits.

By and by, the Dreampad worked shockingly well. I was intrigued to find that I could hear the music flawlessly with my head on the pad however heard nothing once I lifted my head off. There were a couple of special cases of certain melodies that could be heard on a low volume, in any case, with everything taken into account, it does what it professes to do.

The Dreampad application is pre-stacked with music designed to consolidate encompassing music, nature sounds, and the rhythms and frequencies generally helpful for profound rest. You can set any of the 10 sounds accessible to play for a couple of moments or during that time to decrease the danger of awakening. You can likewise alter the volume.

Beside its conspicuous reasonableness, Dreampad says its pad is more viable than outside background noise. Rather than heading out through the wireless transmissions to your external ear, Dreampad music ventures inside through your body, in a perfect world setting off your sensory system’s unwinding reaction.

As far as solace, I end up usually liking the Dreampad cushion in Medium Support ($160) to others in my bed only for its extravagant thickness. It’s hypoallergenic, has a 100% cotton shell, and is, in general, an agreeable pad all alone.

You can settle on thin, medium, or firm help.

Dreampad

A few guardians use it with an old iPhone to get their children to nod off without issue, and a few analysts notice that it’s even assisted with sleep deprivation.

Having said that, the Dreampad has a few cons. Except if you get the Bluetooth recipient ($19), you need to plug your telephone into the cushion around evening time, which could represent an issue on the off chance that you have an iPhone 7 or above and charge your telephone simultaneously. All things considered, you may need to get a connector. For $160, I wish the Bluetooth beneficiary accompanied the pad as of now.

Dreampad

While there is a caution, I wouldn’t depend on it as your primary one, particularly in case you’re an eager sleeper. I frequently wound up moving off it for the duration of the night.

In conclusion, however you in fact can play your own music through the cushion, it’s been exceptionally intended to play just the low-recurrence music intended for actuating rest as of now in the application. In case you’re searching for something to instigate a serene rest instead of capacity as an increasingly commonsense sleep time media player, this con truly doesn’t make a difference. In any case, on the off chance that you hope to play your Spotify “rest playlist” on it, you’ll be welcomed by your playlist as it sounds submerged.

On the off chance that you select to get one and don’t find that it works for you, or you have an issue with one of different cons, you have 30 days to return.

All things considered, in case you’re searching for an approach to instigate rest and locate that white or surrounding clamor encourages you, the Dreampad works for the reason it was intended for. It accompanies a few cons (some of which you can address with a Bluetooth beneficiary or connector), yet is by and large an extraordinary choice for anybody hoping to get the opportunity to rest quicker or more profound — particularly the individuals who should save their accomplice from a similar evening inclinations.

3- We’ve refined the product for 3 years now, we have clinical results from all over the country, including research from institutions like Columbia University, and we’re doing this Kickstarter campaign to take it to the next level, to build inventory and awareness of our new line of Dreampads.

4- The potential of the product is exciting and daunting at the same time – we see great results in so many groups – PTSD, insomnia, autism, Alzheimer’s – really, any condition which involves stress – as well as working professionals like me that have a hard time turning it off at night.  We have the potential to help a lot of people, and we hope you’ll help us do that by supporting the campaign.

ISSUE / PAIN POINT:

    •  Stress is epidemic these days (stats).  Itaffectsour relationships, our productivity, and our overall health.   They say over half the population isn’t getting the sleep they need.  We feel the stress and sleep problems are intertwined.

The stress in the world is epidemic. Working professionals feel stress in their jobs and have a hard time turning it off at night. When you haven’t been getting enough sleep, your performance can’t be at peak. Stress is linked to all kinds of health and mental health problems, and somewhere between 1/4 to 1/2 of the population has trouble sleeping well.

How do you create a pillow with transducers in it, so that it’s still comfortable?

As a parent you see your child burst awake in a night terror, it’s horribly frightening for a child,

It’s hard to keep up with  yoga, meditations, & breathing techniques. We need a simple way of engaging our parasympathetic nervous system and helping the body relax/  Is it possible to use filtered music and transducers to reduce stress and help us sleep better? Most sleep technology is around measuring sleep; the Dreampad actually addresses the problem and improves your sleep. Designing a pillow that meets the broad variety of individual sleep preferences;

FEATURED SOLUTION:

With our sound conductive pillow, we are able to create a unique effect of applying vibration to the nervous system. The dreampad relaxes your body and mind enough to put you in a place where you can fall asleep and stay asleep during the night.Andit helps with calming for anxious children. Music played through speakers or earbudstravels externally to the outer ear, anddoesn’t have the same effect on the nervous system.

How is it different from music traveling through speakers?

Rest your head on the dream pad pillow to get support with:

Sleep Problems

Night terrors

Stress Related Anxiety

Waking up at Night

    • come in or out and plug directly into DP; or use an old phone, download an app with wifi connection even if you don’t have a data plan. Airplane Mode so no signals

You don’t have to put anything on or attach anything.  On the way to your brain, the vibration relaxes your parasympathetic nervous system (your body’s relaxation response). We can resonate you, in your bones, just the same way you resonate when we speak and sing or hum.

    • how it works physiologically –vibration travels internally to the inner ear and in the process seems to triggers the nervous system’s relaxation response;

Yoga, exercise and other natural methods are great.  The advantage of the Dreampad is that the user can be passive and it’s working.  YOu just select the music, adjust the volume, and lie down.

So, if you miss a yoga session or a workout, it can We are PROCESSING SOUND & MUSIC to deliver you the specific frequencies that are best for sleep. We are processing the sound according to researched frequencies that are known to induce sleep. And the way we deliver it, it’s resonating in your bones. The music we choose, and how we filter it through the dream pad creates remarkable lasting effects~And the effect is felt as soon as you hold it to your body.  We selected and filtered certain music to have the most beneficial energies possible for your sleep. And there even is a Non-sleep part: it’s about stress management. We’ve done beta tests with the Stress Management society in London, They have them in their meditation rooms.  People ending a yoga session,The Dreampad is being used at Stanford / Duke/ Harvard Pediatric hospitals. Columbia university published statistically significant evidence that the dream pad works for preventing night time awakenings for adults.

SOLUTION INSIGHTS:

Attuning to the relaxing effect of our highly processed sleep music.

When you put your head on the pillow, it does the job.  You’llget sleepy! People can’t believe that music is actually playing out of the pillow because they can only hear it when they put their head on it.

This is a great fit for parents and adults who are looking to make a significant step in improving sleep behaviours.  And if you are someone who is interested in having a coach and using the full sound and movement therapy, that is also available to you.

Randall: “parents were calling us saying ‘Thank you, we love your product.  My child is sleeping now, it’s awesome.’“  “ I’ve never heard of any case where the dream pad didn’t completely get rid of night terrors. “ “We did a program with mommy bloggers.  The response from these women was incredible.  My kid slept through the night for the first time ever. CREATOR BACKGROUND:

    • History – iLs core program of sound & movement > early versions of DP for clinical use > new version for consumers

It feels good to be helping people. I co-founded the Dreampad parent company, called Integrated Listening Systems 8 years ago to help improve brain function for autistic and dyslexic children. As a company, Integrated Listening Systems has a sound and movement therapy program that gives clinical support remediating autism and child anxiety. Our old product required wearing headphones, to train the brain to process information. We launched a little slim dream pad 1 version that therapists and parents were buying to help clinical high anxiety patients, kids with night terrors, and the therapist began noticing certain benefits.  Parents are calling us back, telling us look I’m using this for my own sleep issues, I put it on my bed and I’m sleeping better than I ever have. Supporting research.

When we designed the pillow, we discovered that people have preferences for our nighttime rituals.  We realized that pretty quickly. We’ve gone back and back and back again to the drawing board, after many prototypes, We feel like we’ve got it now, and we’ve got it in 4 different versions to suit every sleepers needs. WE’veconducted research to test and refine the product over many years with therapists working with parents and children, and they gave us feedback.

We’ve completely redesigned the product as well as expanded the music app that comes with it. We have new prototypes in hand and are using them in business development and sales discussions with distributors. And we’re releasing the first pre-sale availability of the product here on Kickstarter.

ENVISIONED FUTURE:

We havesomething which can help a large portion of the population. it can make a significant contribution to both reducing stress and improving our sleep. In general, the Dreampad seems to work for about 80% of those who try it.

CALL TO ACTION:

Enjoy the relaxing effect of our highly processed sleep music.

As you process your environment better, you can manage better.

Even if you can’t practice frequently in meditation, exercise or breathwork practices, this pillow may benefit your parasympathetic nervous system, and take your mind off your anxiety, sleeplessness and lull you back to sleep.

1- origination story: iLs background + bringing the transducer technology to kids with tactile sensitivity; Parents of those kids reported it helped them: we developed a stress product only to find out later that it’s also a sleep product

2- stress and sleep intertwined; undercurrent of stress in our lives; vicious cycle: stress > poor sleep > even more stressed from lack of sleep.  Like yoga or exercise the Dreampad is a tool to put your body and mind in a place which is conducive to sleep. One advantage of the DP is that you can be passive and still see the results.  It works whether you’re doing anything or not.

{production call notes}

For Kickstarter views this, the line that we tell –

WE had the original creation of it : part of the story.

As a company, Integrated listening systems have sound and movement therapy, that helps remediating autism.  It’s used when we launched ILS as a way of bringing together sound and movement therapy.

It involves wearing headphones, to train the brain to process information.  Simple brain training.  As you process your environment better, you can manage better.  The headphones have a calming effect.  A Lot of them have

Recent update that’s bringing us to kickstarter.

I developed the dreampad and created a prototype and got the patent on it in 2012, and we launched the little slim pad that therapists and parents were buying to help clinical high anxiety / night terrors, a more ongoing consistent state of constant anxiety.

Therapists are noticing that this works.  It’s been studied and we discovered that we were stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system.  Parents are calling us back, look I’m using this for my sleep, and when I go in, and my kids asleep, I put it on my bed.

Refined them and refined them.

How do you create a pillow with transducers in it, so that it’s still comfortable.

We needed to make something better quality to use the real dream pad.

In our core product is PROCESSING MUSIC.  The music is how we filter it.  And the effect is based on frequencies.  We filter music differently for people with autism or dyslexia.  In the case of sleep, obviously you want a slow tempo piece.  Music that does not have a melody.

We want to complete the phrasing, even though we like melodies, what we want for sleep is for the music to be a bland stimulus, wallpaper for the brain.  We’ve gone to . Most people use them .

It gets carried by the dream pad best, we’re processing the transducer . This The relaxing effect of our highly processed sleep music.

We’re doing something different.  Processing the sound according to researched frequencies that are known to induce sleep.

The characteristic isn’t the music, it’s about how it’s delivered.  The main point is that it is a mechanical vibration that is traveling through your cranium.  You don’t get any input until you put your head on the way.

On the way, it relaxes your parasympathetic nervous system.  It’s different~~than a boom box~~

The vibration is going / speak in two waves ~ minor point / kickstarter nerd.  My voice sounds full, because it’s resonating in your bones. We can resonate you, in your bones, just the same way you resonate when we speak and sing or hum.

The main program~

The main ILS program~ core therapy: we work with frequencies. The main core product that ILS does / total focus, sound and movement therapy.  Music loaded on an ipod movement activities + dream pad.

The dreampods~it comes with an app:

5 music choices in it.  The music types are preference.  Viola, a variety of different instruments.  They’re not really condition specific.  Is this really an entirely different product? App that provides the music source.  Sends the sound out through solid, rather than airways.  The dreampad ~ you download the app to a phone / mp3, pick the music, play it, use a bluetooth device, plug it into the pillow.

You can Play your own music.  The method is being.  FUll Blown ILS kit, Total Focus. Therapeutic . We can go back to them and say, if you’re interested in this as a true therapy, beyond just anxiety and sleep, we have this other program.  Therapists and doctors and hospitals. If a consumer comes to us.

I’ve got a five year old, difficulties in school, I really want to do IS, there’s not therapist , we’ll rent it to you with a coach to work with you to support you, and they can work with you by distance to help you get to do this with your, consumers can rent it to us directly.

The reason we are doing it now, our proposal ~ even though a clinical version, we redesigned it to make it more comfortable and appealing .

It’s one things to put:

We have preferences for our nighttime rituals.  We realize that pretty quickly.  We’ve gone back and back and back again with the drawing board, in a way that you really can’t .  We feel like we’ve got it now, and we’ve got it in 4 different versions.

Improvement of the app, to where we have a truly helpful consumer app. We do know if helps war vets with this more comfortable pillow, and all about four versions /

-It’s pretty cool

-Go on –

First reaction – Hey joe, listen to this, it’s actually playing something.  Two year old in a crib, how come I can hear the pillow? The second reaction is simultaneous – oh man, this feels good.  We’ll do testing.  Wow, this is kind of delicious, it’s really really nice.  Wow this is a cool novelty that I can really see checking out.

When you lie in bed, you have to adjust the music volume, you have to control the volume.  8-15 depending on how loud.

Lying on the back with the music going through your cranium, it’s a really cool feeling.

We’re talking with the Stress Management society in London, They have them in their meditation rooms.  People ending a yoga session ending a dream.

The products being used at Stanford / Duke Pediatric hospitals, it’s being used with PTSD.

Columbia university in new york – the dream pad preventing awakenings through the night. It’s a research finding from a controlled study by an Ivy league hospital.  That was with adults. they found statistically significant evidence,

 First point

When you put your head on the pillow, it does the job.  Physiologically it’s working, just as your head is on the pillow.

– even if you can’t hold your centers in these practices, it benefits the parasympathetic nervous system the same way.

Insomnia therapy your psychologist, it really is a tool.  If you’re not at the level, just use it as enjoyment.

Testimonial:

I wake up at 1 or two in the morning and my mind starts moving.  I wake up, I hear the music going, before I know it I’m sleeping.  It lulls you back to sleep.  It just kinda takes your mind off of what you are thinking about.  It’s a psychological level. It’s distracting you from the wheel.

He burst awake, it’s horribly frightening for a child, you are running toward your parent room , it’s really not a funny thing.  I’ve never heard of any case where the dream pad didn’t completely get rid of night terrors.  My heart goes out to kids and experience, take this and let us know how it goes.  It’s really cool.  How to market to that group, it speaks the notion that the dreampad is brini

Narrative Treatment Development:

Why this project?

This project evolved from a clinical product I developed to help children with anxiety and sleep problems.  We saw profound results with the original Dreampad technology in its effectiveness to help kids with insomnia, night terrors, autism, ADHD and trauma.  Their parents were calling us saying ‘Thank you, we love your product.  My child is sleeping now, it’s awesome.’  And then they’d go on to say, ‘When he falls asleep at night I go in and take the Dreampad and use it myself, and it’s helping me enormously.  Would you guys please make a product for adults?!’  At that point we realized we had something which could help a large portion of the population.  We went back to the drawing board to re-design it, to make it more comfortable and appealing to different preferences.

Who are the people you serve?  What are their needs?

The Dreampad started with pediatric clinicians – therapists, hospitals and parents- who were using it to help children sleep better.  As word got out, we were contacted by researchers working with PTSD, autism and general adult stress-related sleep issues.  They began collecting data and we learned that the core value of the product is in relieving stress.  In general, the Dreampad seems to work for about 80% of those who try it.

Our fastest growing group is probably working professionals who feel stress in their jobs and have a hard time turning it off at night.  The Dreampad is a good solution for them in that it helps with both falling asleep and staying asleep through the night, and it’s easy to use – there’s nothing to wear – and the only person who can hear it is the person whose head is on it.

Why you?  What about your personal story makes you unique to run this business?

I co-founded the Dreampad parent company, called Integrated Listening Systems 8 years ago to help improve brain function for autistic and dyslexic children.  We use special transducers in our headphones, and we noticed over time that they had a calming effect on anxious children.  But many of the kids had tactile sensitivity and couldn’t wear the headsets.  So I developed the Dreampad as a way of bringing that technology to those tactile sensitive kids.  It was our relationship with therapists that allowed us to conduct research and test and refine the product over many years as they gave us feedback.

Why was it necessary to found this business?

N/A

What is the problem you help solve?

Stress and sleep are the two problems we’re addressing. Stress is linked to all kinds of health and mental health problems, and somewhere between 1/4 to 1/2 of the population has trouble sleeping well, depending upon what stats you read. The Dreampad doesn’t act like a narcotic that makes you sleep; instead, it relaxes your body and mind enough to put you in a place where you can fall asleep and stay asleep.

Why is this a one-of-a-kind solution?

This is unique because of the effect of the vibration  on the nervous system.  People ask how this is different from music played through a speaker in the room.  It’s entirely different.  Music from the Dreampad transducers moves through the body internally in a way which seems to mechanically trigger your relaxation response.  Whereas music played through speakers or earbuds travels externally to the outer ear, and doesn’t have the same effect on the nervous system.

As far as sleep technologies go, most of them track your sleep and let you know how much or little you are getting. The Dreampad takes itto the next level and actually helps you solve the problem.

What are the measurable things in the project that you’ve achieved so far?

The new Dreampad line builds on years of refinement of the original product, which is being used as a de-stress and sleep tool in some of the top clinics and hospitals in the world.  For the new line we are working with the top pillow maker in the U.S. to ensure we have scalability.  We’ve completely redesigned the product as well as expanded the music app that comes with it. We have new prototypes in hand and are using them in business development and sales discussions with distributors.  So far, we are in advanced stage discussion with distribution channels in the hospitality, sleep clinic, spa, home shopping and corporate wellness markets.

What are the future steps required to fulfill the project?

We need Kickstarter funds to purchase inventory at higher volume discounts, update the current App and to build the sales team.  Our product, website, marketing, shipping, online store, and customer service are completed, and we have a number of sales channels in place.   With regard to the Kickstarter campaign, we have a PR firm, videographer and social media person ready for the launch.

What is the transformation that happens in your customers when they experience your product?

Great question!  They get sleepy!  They also can’t believe that music is actually playing out of the pillow because they can only hear it when they put their head on it.

What feelings do your customers walk away with?

So, if you’re a student, a mom, a professional, or whatever, your entire life picks up once you’re sleeping well.

What have you personally learned as a result of doing this work?

I never expected to make a contribution like this.  I was never the type who graduated from college and said “I want to help humanity.”  It all just happened organically to where we created this product to help children with autism relax and then learned we have a unique sleep product on our hands. I guess my biggest learning is how good it feels to be helping people in what you do every day.

Why is creating this type of project a good fit in your overall needs of society?

Not sure what this is asking.

What is the near-term goal of the business?  What is the long-term goal?

Near term goal is to raise the funds to make it a self-sustaining business.  Long-term goal is to get it out there to those who need it – from sleepless kids to war vets to professionals with stress related sleep issues.  We live in a world which is increasingly defined by stress.  If we can help alleviate that, it’s not a small thing.

Campaign Planning:

Who is your market community, and why do they see you as a member?

Our market community consists of two (2) general groups.  The first is the clinical community which includes therapists, doctors, sleep professionals and patients who are looking for real help with their sleep issues.  The Dreampad is a member of this group because the product offers a therapeutic solution to anxiety and sleep difficulties.

The second market community are the individuals and families who have sleep issues but don’t have a formal diagnosis of insomnia.  The 2 large subsets of this consumer market are: 1) Professionals who have stressful lives and crave a good night’s sleep, and 2) parents (usually moms) who are looking for ways to help themselves or their children sleep better.

Both of these groups are looking for natural, non-pharmacological ways to get a better sleep.

What are the preliminary tasks required to further establish your membership as an authority in this market?

To further establish our membership in both the clinical and consumer markets, we need to leverage our research and the testimonials of those who have used the product to date.  We’ll also need to continue providing new research over time.  We have backing from some sleep experts, one of whom is Dr. Michael Breus, the sleep doc for Dr. Oz.  (we’re considering now how to reach out to him – he likes us but he’s expensive and also careful about putting his name on products).   Lastly, and most importantly, we need to increase the visibility and awareness of the Dreampad product.  Kickstarter will hopefully help us with this.  But we also need to gain distribution in a high exposure channels (i.e. Mattress retail, Home Shopping, DRTV, etc.).

How many people currently have been touched by your business? Do you have direct email access to them?

We sold approximately 2,500 Dreampads in 2015 mostly through our professional channels.  We do have email access to these consumers.  We also have trained over 8000 therapists in the iLs therapy.  We have email access to approximately 3,000 who are still active with iLs.  Many of these are parents and professionals who have given us strong recommendations in writing.

How have you accounted for your goal?  Please articulate who will be funding this project, and your reasonable assumptions for how that will add up to your funding goal. What is your public goal versus your internal target?

We have set our KS goal at $50,000.  This goal was set to assure that it was reached.  Our real target is over $300,000.  We need this funding to purchase inventory, update the Dreampad App and expand our sales capabilities.  We believe this is a reasonable amount to raise because 2 companies (Sleep Shepherd & Hello Sense) in the consumer sleep space raised $675K and $2.4M respectively on Kickstarter.  We believe we have a more user friendly technology, backed by research, that addresses stress related sleep issues in the population.

What partnerships for reaching a wider audience do you have, and how can you incentivize them to cover your story? (Blog Writers, Relationships to Influencers with Following in your community, etc)

We’ve had decent press coverage on the current version of the Dreampad.  We can send the journalists that have already covered us positively a new Dreampad product and ask them to review it again.  We have a loyal base of Associates that should be willing to support us on Kickstarter, especially if they will be getting the new Dreampad at a significant discount. We also have ~16k followers on Facebook, 20k followers on Twitter (for what that’s worth), 1100 followers on Pinterest, 8k views on iLs YouTube videos.
